We were having a debate last night, me and my sister, on which is better and easier to use. It was a fight between Digital Camera vs DSLR, where I took side of the DSLR as the better one among the two, and of course my sister taking side of the digital camera.
Her argument was that digital cameras are always user friendly because it has less complicated features and you can bring it anytime you want like a cell phone because of its size and shape. She said it is more convenient and more portable than DSLR with a built in flash always included in it, and you can easily hide it if in case some bad guy decided to snatch it away from you. I told her that everything she said about the features of a digital camera can be found on a DSLR and some more. I said the good thing about DSLR is you can always change lens and the flash bulb anytime you want, depending on the lighting that you have on the subject that you want to take a picture of. I also told her that the best thing about DSLR cameras is its special features. You can automatically have special effects on the camera without using any special software in the computer.

I always wanted to have a nice DSLR camera because of three reasons… first is the fact that I am a frustrated photographer, always wanting to become a pro but not exactly talented when it comes to taking good pictures. Second, I think DSLR cameras are really to die for because of its seemingly endless number of capabilities and changeable lens and flash bulbs. And the last reason, three of my friends have their own DSLR cameras and I don’t want to be left behind.
Although, ones I get my own unit, I guess I would need to ask some DSLR for beginners crash course because when I checked my friends’ cameras, all of them have different features and I’m a little overwhelmed with all the technology that was bombarded on my face. Right now, to make it a little easier for me, I’ve been joining some photography forums to see what I could pick up from fellow wannabes and pros as well. I think I’d also want to find out some basics of Nikon D60 because it is the model that my friends have advised me to buy because they said it would fit me perfectly, and it is the model that neither of them have.
