Travel Photo Trivia

Well our loyal trivia fan, Matt, guessed it correct last week.  It was Aran Islands off the coast of Ireland.  Good job Matt!

Here is this week’s picture.  Good luck!  The clues are below:

  1. This building was originally erected in the 5th century
  2. It experienced a fire in the 15th century
  3. The bells rang during the middle ages to signal a fire and tell the laborers to stop work

Pet Travel Requirements for Italy

Recently I photographed a wedding in Venice, Italy and one of the factors that made it interesting was she chose to bring her dog along. So this got me wondering, what were the requirements for bringing your pet to a destination wedding or honeymoon in Italy? Do pets have their own passport or is it simply a vaccine certificate?  Well here is what I discovered at The Italian Tourism Board for US and Canadian brides:

  • A valid european community vet certificate - issue date not to exceed 30 days prior to departure and valid for 4 months
  • A valid rabies vaccine
  • The pet must have a tattoo or micro chip
  • And of course a travel carrier

The certificate forms are available from the Italian Consulate if your vet does not have them. This form is equivalent to the EU Pet Passport which also allows you to travel between EU countries. Happy travels!
