Tony & Michelle’s Beautiful Cancun Wedding

Mark Kingsdorf of The Queen of Hearts Wedding Consultants sent over a beautiful Cancun wedding he coordinated recently.  The event took place at the Moon Palace Golf Resort & Spa, an all inclusive resort with a Catholic Chapel on the property and a local priest to perform the ceremeony; something that was very important to Michelle.  She and Tony also wanted a resort that offerred lots of amenities to their 125 guests in attendance.  And as you can see, the views from the chapel are gorgeous!

For Michelle, photography was very important, so she chose to hire Laura & Paul Eaton of Laura Eaton Photography, as well as, Drew DeMarinis of Tangerine Media Group for video.

Michelle & Tony wanted to keep things simple, so the chose to go with the floral services offered by the resort.  Mark and his team designed program fans & floral cones for petal tossing and even brought in perfectly place shells for that warm, beach feel.

I love the colors of the cake and decor!

Mark’s advice to a bride planning a destination wedding?  Always try to hire a coordinator but if you choose to diy he has three excellent points.  One is make a site visit, don’t depend on websites and pictures alone.  Two is get everything in writing and even do communications initially via email so they have time to review your requests, especially if you’re dealing with language barriers.  And three it’s always, always try to fly nonstop if possible.  You don’t want the stress of multiple connections if you can avoid it.

Congrats to Tony & Michelle!  Thank you Mark for sharing this beautiful Cancun wedding.  You and your team great planning an event for 125 guests.

The One and Only Palmilla in Los Cabos

One of our readers, Maritza, submitted her wonderful honeymoon, The One&Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, Mexico. This sure makes me wish I still lived in L.A. so I could go for a weekend visit. It’s only a two-hour flight from Los Angeles. This place looks amazing.

One&Only Palmilla is located within the Los Cabos Corridor, a 21-mile stretch between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas at the southernmost point of Baja California Sur along the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez.

Maritza is also the designer of a cute travel tote called the Honeymoon Bag. Here’s what she had to say about her honeymoon:

“It was amazing there! Like a dream… like we walked into a post card. We stayed a JR Beach Suite and loved every minute of it. The service there is impeccable and we got lots of complimentary goodies because I carried my bag everywhere!”

Thanks for sharing your honeymoon, Maritza.

Fabulously Lizy + Groom + Mexican Resorts = Honeymoon Bliss

Shari and I are fans of Lizy’s fashionable wedding blog, Fabulously Lizy.  So when she announced she and her fiance had chosen their honeymoon resorts we asked her to be a guest on our blog.   We wanted to know all the ins and outs of why and how they chose the two gorgeous resorts in Mexico.  I mean, there are so many to choose from but I have to admit, these two are fantastic!  The elegant Four Seasons Resort in Punta Mita and the very hip, chic Tides Zihuatanejo.

The chic Tides Resort

My first question for Lizy was of course, why Mexico?  I’m always interested in how couples choose, since your honeymoon should be a VERY memorable, ABSOLUTELY perfect spot for the two of you.  Somewhere that represents you both; whether it’s tropical, urban, adventureous, etc.  For Lizy and her fiance, they were torn between Mexico & Italy.  But when it came down to it, they wanted somewhere with great fall weather, beautiful surroundings and a place where they could relax on a beach and enjoy each other.

So after intensive research and referrals from friends, they stumbled across both resorts, and knew….these resorts were it.  They both offer amazing views, luxurious amenities and pristine beaches.  If you’re looking for a honeymoon resort that has 1500 acres of grounds and a yacht for guests, I’m sure pure luxury at The Four Seasons will have everything you desire.  But then maybe lush gardens, stunning jungles and a tranquil spa are just what you need for the perfect honeymoon.  But I have to agree with Lizy, why not take in the beauty of two resorts and discover more of Mexico.  Why choose.

Check back in October when Lizy promises to share some of their honeymoon pictures.  Who knows we may have shots of them playing golf, snorkeling, and even attending a tequilla tasting.  Somehow, knowing Lizy’s taste in fashion, she’ll look this chic everywhere she goes!

Have fun Lizy and thanks for sharing!!!

Exotic Mexican Wedding

As Shari & I were brainstorming about feature photographers, one of the first to come to my mind was Sergio.  He is an amazing photographer who somehow draws you into every images.  You experience the beauty, the laughter and the passion.  I love how he captures the emotion in someone’s eyes; so piercing.

As you can see I’m a huge fan of his work, so when he said he’d love to be featured on our destination wedding blog AND offered for us to feature Sol & Matt’s wedding, I was elated.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Sol & Matt, they’re VERY talented photographers as well, shooting gorgeous destination weddings frequently.  And when they chose their wedding location, the perfect choice was Playa Del Carmen and a traditional Mayan ceremony on the beach.
